DAVID MOYES ADDRESSES JESSE LINGARD SPECULATION
“It’s not for us to discuss”
West Ham manager, David Moyes had his say over the transfer speculation of Jesse Lingard.
Lingard experienced an outstanding six months at West Ham in the 2020/21 Premier League season where he mastered nine goals and four assists in the sixteen games he played for West Ham.
Jesse Lingard missed Manchester United’s opening Premier league game against Leeds due to testing positive for Covid-19. Manchester United went on to win the game 5-1. West Ham also had a good start to their Premier League season with a 4-2 win over Newcastle United.
Speaking in a press conference earlier today David Moyes was questioned on the transfer speculation surrounding Jesse Lingard in which he replied:
“We really enjoyed having Jesse but Jesse is a Manchester United Player. The questions are not for me - the questions are for Manchester United. We enjoyed having him, if the opportunity arose to get Jesse we would have been interested but in my mind he's at Manchester United and it's not for us to discuss.”
Moyes was pressed further and was asked if expects more activity in the transfer window and he replied:
"Yes I do," Moyes said. "I hope to do some more business. We have been trying hard and we are trying to add to a good group of players and give ourselves more options at different times. We know we've got a challenging season ahead of us, an exciting one so I hope we're able to do something. Look in this world, in this business there are no guarantees."
West Ham fans frustration seems to be growing stronger of the lack of movement in the transfer market and you can't blame them.
After an impressive season, West Ham find themselves in the Europa League this year and with extra games to play, you can't help but think West Ham could do with the likes of Jesse Lingard.
