Max Aarons

Norwich City’s Max Aarons has been linked to Bayern Munich for just over a year now ever since the club were relegated from the Premier League. Aarons is an impressive young English right-back which makes him a specialist in a difficult position to find.

Max Aarons wants to play first-team football in a top league so that he can make a push for the England squad. The Euros may be too soon for him, but any competition afterwards he will be desperate to be involved and he’s unlikely to do so whilst at Norwich City.

Jamaica’s National team recently approached Aarons and fellow Championship player Ivan Toneyu about representing their National side, however, both turned them down due to their England aspirations.

Bayern Munich have struggled in the right-back position for a few seasons now. Joshua Kimmich was their undisputed starter, however, he made a move to midfield which left the spot weak. Benjamin Pavard hasn’t performed as well as the club had hoped and new signing Bouna Sarr has been brought in as a squad player.

Niklas Süle made a few appearances at right-back despite being a natural centre back and has impressed, however, the club will want to bring in a new guy. Max Aarons fits the bill and Norwich City’s asking price is around £35 million.

Liverpool are also interested in Max Aarons with a view to making him backup right-back to Trent Alexander Arnold. Welshman Neco Williams has impressed in his few appearances for the club and at 19 years old, he has the potential to be a starter in the future. Fabinho can also play right-back or centre back but will stay in midfield for now which makes Aarons the perfect signing.

Another club that want to sign Max Aarons is Tottenham Hotspur. Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier have both underperformed this season and are the club’s only two right-backs. Aurier has been linked with a move away from the club which would free up some funds to sign Norwich City’s Aarons.

London rivals Arsenal also want to compete with Tottenham Hotspur for Aarons’ signature this summer. Héctor Bellerín and Cédric Soares are the club’s only natural right-backs and Bellerín looks set to leave the club this summer. Aarons would be the undisputed starter at Arsenal which would be perfect for the young defender.

Everton are a club that recently joined the race for Max Aarons with a view to bringing in a long term replacement for club captain Seamus Coleman. Coleman is 32 years old and could be on his way out especially with the club having no other right-backs in the squad. £35 million may be a steep price for Everton but if they can sell some squad members, they will be desperate to bring in Aarons.

Along with Bayern Munich, AC Milan are another European club that want to bring in Aarons. Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot will need to be replaced once he returns to his parent club and Aarons will fit the bill.
